Primary purpose of this job: To sustainably develop and manage a regional (EAME, APAC, Americas) business stream within the overall IONIK regional business enabling the provision, primarily to the energy industry, of a regional team of professional, contract personnel, who provide clients with office and site based expertise in Inspection engineering and assurance services across an asset or group of assets lifecycle.
Primary responsibility:
The primary function of the IE & A Business Lead will be to oversee the successful day to day running of the business unit.
Has primary responsibility for the allocation of project resources and coordination of project support activities ensuring control of final Client deliverables and resource schedules.
Actively developing and maintaining good relationships with regional Clients and project managers is a key requirement of this role.
Shall be expected to assist project teams with planning, technical input, scheduling and resource allocation to meet project goals & objectives.
Responsible for business unit budgets and cost controls
Qualifications:
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Metallurgical/Welding Engineering.
Professionally developed QA/QC skills
Certified API and/or CSWIP qualifications relevant to inspection and assurance.
Hold current Offshore medical and survival certification
Skills & Competencies:
Formal training in various inspection strategies.
A sound working knowledge of current NDT applications, including limitations and effectiveness.
A sound working knowledge of welding and metallurgy issues associated with inspection and assurance.
Thorough knowledge of international codes and standards relevant to the Energy industry with specific requirements of ASME, API and BS codes and practices.
A good working knowledge in the various inspection and assurance software applicable in the industry currently
Good PC literacy in the MS office products
Relevant Experience:
Minimum 15 years experience in the inspection and assurance industry with at least 5 years in a senior supervisory/management position.
Experience in shutdown planning/contract manpower management.
Experience in mill, manufacturing and site fabrication audits and procedures.
Experience in the application of international codes and standards in energy industry.
Extensive experience in engineering technical terms and their uses and application.
